The college admissions process can be nerve-wracking even to the most experienced family. It is also a prime opportunity for scam artist to take advantage of families seeking ways to help a college bound child. As a general rule you should never pay money to get a scholarship or grant. Additionally there are many free resources available to help students through the process. If you receive an unsolicited offer in the mail for college admissions assistance, financial aid assistance, or to participate in a program please verify with Ms. Bryan in the College Center before registering and/or providing personal information. The letter below is a common scam that has been presented to JMHS students in the past. Beware....
