Student Expectations

All Marshall High School stakeholders: students, staff and parents/guardians will work together to foster an environment of welcomeness, inclusivity and student behavior that promotes learning.

Hours of Campus Cleaning up (In lieu of suspension)

If a student violates the Marshall High School Code of Conduct or the California Education Code (E.C.), then the student is subject to being suspended from school. However, to avoid missing class time, in lieu of requiring your child to be suspended from school and serve the suspension at home, your child is required to perform hours of Campus Service Hours.  

 

Student may serve Campus Clean-up during the following days and times:

  • Monday-Friday 3:45-4:30 meet at the skateboard shed
  • Saturdays 8:00-12:00 meet at the skateboard shed

Please check with the Dean’s office for possible changes, and possible additional hours on Saturdays. We also honor Saturday Schools' hours.

 

These hours have been approved by PBIS and by Marshall's SDM. 

 

  • 48263.6 (Truancy 2hrs or more)
  • 48900(a) (Fight 20hrs )
  • 48900(b) (Tagging 12 hrs or more)
  • 48915(a)(1)(B); 48900(b) Possession of any knife or other dangerous object of no reasonable use to the pupil. (25 hrs or more)
  • In the same stall (10 hrs of more)
  • 48900(c) (Possession of contraband/paraphernalia 10 hr or more)
  • Smoking/Vaping (10 hrs or more)
  • Stolen Hall Pass (2 hrs or more)
  • Play fighting (20 hrs)(Min 10 hours; case by case basis)
  • Tardy sweeps (30 minutes)
  • Disrespect others, and property (2hrs or more)
  • Using/having a visible cellphones on campus(In class or outside) (5-10 hours each time)
  • Having earbuds/headphones on(30 mins each time)
  • Refusing to be Searched (20hrs)
  • Walking away from Staff (10 hrs)
  • Leaving the classroom without permission (2 hrs or more)
  • Cal. Pen. Code § 633.5 Recording without permission (20 hr or more)
  • Please be advised that there are other infractions that you get you Campus Service Hours. (trash pick-up).
 
Thank you in advance for ensuring that your child will serve their Campus Clean-up assignment.  If your child does not serve Campus Clean-up, you will be required to attend a mandatory meeting with school administrators and may also result in traditional suspension from school and/or transfer from Marshall High School to another school in the LAUSD.  It is imperative that Marshall High School students follow the Code of Conduct and behave in a manner that is conducive to student learning and safety.
