To create a secure and formal community for the students of the Marshall Student Body whether they are Armenian or not. We strive to bring light to the major events and holidays of Armenia and its culture. We hope the club will become a place where individuals of common backgrounds can come together and form new relationships/connections. We also aspire that more people become educated in Armenian culture.

Art Club

The purpose of the club is to expand the artistry and make a creative environment for the John Marshall High School students to participate in. Students will be making their own creations and convey their feelings and emotions through their art. Students will be using different arts such as literature, music, photography, acting, and painting and will be introduced with a different topic

each meeting and a different media of art to display the topic. At the end of each month, the club would hold a gallery walk in the club displaying the students’ creative gifts on the topic given. Since we also live in Los Angeles where art is very prominent we will also teach students about the art industry and the different paths they can take using their artistic talents.

Coastal Conversation  

To educate students about pollution in our coasts and how we can reduce our carbon footprint. We will also talk about how we affect marine life and how our coasts affect us. We will also hold

monthly beach cleanups, MPA surveying events, and a variety of other things to protect marine life, preserve natural environments, and work together with others who share the same goals as us.

Community Engagement Club

allow students to fully engage in the community, hence the name. This club is dedicated to spreading awareness  by giving back to the community. We’ll be participating in multiple volunteering on current or historical events over the course of the school year that will benefit you, as the student, in return, gains service hours by doing an event that correlates with said theme of the week. We hope to bring what we’ve been taught and served to an end of the school year wellness podium to talk about a chosen cause that is affecting us hugely. We strive to hear what’s important to other members so we can bring up any current issue and find a way to help!

Formula 1 and Mechanical Engineering  Club 

This club will have the purpose of teaching students about the motorsport “Formula 1”, teaching the basics of cars, and even modeling out some car designs and prototypes. Girls Who Code Club

To teach girls how to code by using online resources such as Replit, Codeacadamy, and

Code.org, as well as personal and prior knowledge. Students will work together to learn the

basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript to create games and learn more about career opportunities in STEM. The purpose of this club is to encourage more women to work in CS and lessen the gender gap in the male dominated computer science field.

HEAL Club 

HEAL stands for Health Education and Literacy, which is what we aim to promote through this chapter. The main purpose of HFH is to fundraise, raise awareness, educate, and support patients. Through these actions, HEAL aims to foster health equity across a gradient of socioeconomic levels, especially targeting  underrepresented/underprivileged communities to receive quality assistance. We also plan to host workshops and other learning opportunities to raise awareness for relevant topics in our local school environment and beyond.

Homeless Outreach Club

We plan to spread awareness of the growing issue of homelessness in our local community, figure out ways in which we can help as students, and ultimately provide numerous community service opportunities for those willing to volunteer. Our main goal is to combat homelessness in the most effective way possible, and we believe that working together as a team within this club will do just that.

Javascript Coding Club

To teach club members how to code in javascript using p5.js as our web editor, and to make games. We will learn variables, arrays, loops, events, functions, parameters, etc. We will also learn basic graphics inside using the p5.js library and we will do projects in the club such as coding a snake game, a minesweeper game or even a flappy bird game. We will also have a sort of game jam where you will make a game or a program, and we will have a competition to decide which one is the best.

Media Analysis Club

The purpose of the Media Analysis Club is to observe and analyze crucial scenes and moments

in various pieces of media, whether that be in film or novels. Some days, we will view scenes from famous movies and break down what happened piece by piece, some days we will discuss general themes often used to provoke certain ideas or feelings of the viewer. A perfect outlet to geek out, have fun, and improve listening/ observing skills along with picking up on subtle details, allowing for better writing and storytelling skills.

The John Marshall High School American Red Cross Club aims to uphold the mission and core values of the American Red Cross; a humanitarian organization that aims to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Our Club aims to uphold the American Red Cross Vision Statement, target our youth and the surrounding community to be familiar with the purpose of the American Red Cross, better educate our community to be ready and prepared for unexpected times of disaster, learn new skills, and support our armed services and reunite broken families. The Achievers Club

In the Achievers club, we strive to create a calming safe environment for students when feeling overwhelmed and alone. In this club we set goals, individual or group goals where we can strive to pass a certain test or just something as simple as not procrastinating your homework. Even researching or applying for sc scholarships, internships, and colleges, can all be accomplished here where everyone would help each other making the process less stressful. In this club, people are welcome to ask for help with assignments or just interested in learning about a different subject or class. Although, the most important part about the achiever’s club is that it is a safe support system at school among peers for students to ease the transition from middle school to even college

The Helping Hands Club

Our club’s purpose is to make donations to organizations such s Cars for Hospitalized Children and other hospitals as well. Some examples, of this include creating bracelets, writing letters, doing donation drives, etc. These items will be donated to people with serious illnesses along with others in need. Aside from donating, we will also take time to educate our members about other volunteering opportunities with other organizations. We will give detailed information on what these organizations require when you volunteer and the places where you can find them.

The Musical Theatre

The purpose of this club will be to provide the Marshall community with a different type of art form. We want to extend ourselves to bring a club that this school has never seen before, and hasn’t been accessible in a long time.
